The regional patrons and business community have an infactation for Maison Kammerzell, and it’s easy to see why. The building itself is stunning, it’s complete with detailed wooden beams, a picturesque version of it’s original 16th century state. Indeed, the building itself is from the 16th century, but has gone through many facelifts and upgrades throughout the years. In essence, it was the only thing that preserved the building, which now houses on of the finest restaurants in Strasbourg.

Fortunately, the food is just as fabulous and unique as the building. The atmosphere is rewarding and luxurious in an authentic sort of way, unlike many of Maison Kammerzell’s contemporary rivals, who place art and atmosphere over the food (always a big turn off).

A Strasbourg favorite amongst locals is choucroute au poisson (fish served with sauerkraut). Fish is a very large part of this restaurant’s menu, which is part of it’s charm, however there are many other dishes available to customers, including meat, vegetarian, and children’s meals.

Additional side dishes, sauces, and the fantastic wine list make every meal at this restaurant a memorable one. Perhaps this is why this establishment is so revered and held to such a high esteem by local patrons and international fine diners.

The dcor is simplistic and it’s not overdone or pretentious, which is very appealing to customers who grow bored of elaborate dcor which always overshadows mediocre food. This establishment keeps it’s eye on the prize: excellent food, happy customers, and a reputation that any business owner and chef can be proud of.
